                  When it comes to maintaining the look of your furniture, it is important to know how to care for it properly. Feather and down stuffed cushions and pillows require different maintenance than fiber or foam stuffed cushions or pillows.

                  Down filled cushions are a popular choice for a sofa. While a feather filling gives the most relaxed look of all our options. It will flatten when sat on and look far more casual than foam and fiber fillings. Feather is the most traditional filling and is magnificently soft. It’s loft and comfort is lavish, but there are some important facts to consider when selecting a down filled cushion for your furniture.

                  DOWN CARE

                  • Over time, sitting on down cushions causes the down to clump together. Clumping leaves the cushions flattened. CF Interiors suggests to turn and fluff the cushions and pillows frequently. To avoid constant fluffing and flattening, we recommended sitting in different places; even use helps keep the loft level. 
                  • Fluffing will redistribute the down while incorporating air into the filling. To do this, simply pat the area with your hands or pick up the cushions, turn them over a few times and shake them to redistribute the feathers evenly throughout. 
                  • When cleaning upholstered furniture, first check the cleaning instructions for the upholstery or leather material you have for your piece. When cleaning an item that is feather stuffed it is important to remember not to get the feathers wet. CF Interiors recommends sending your cushions to a cleaner if they have been heavily soiled. 
                  • Airing out the cushions every 3 to 6 months will help remove any odors that might build up from time to time.
