MERILEE CLARKE - INTERIOR DESIGN + DRAPERY
Merilee's first career was in the Fashion Industry designing women’s wear in Toronto and Montreal. The visual and technical skills she acquired working with textiles during that time have enhanced her natural ability to work with colour, co-ordinate textures, fabrics and form.
Always a lover of Architectural elements, Merilee was drawn to work with a larger canvas than the human form. Her approach is to understand and conceive of what makes each client feel at home and in his or her own element, then help them to visualize/ realize it.
In 1999 through 2001, Merilee attended the Environmental/Interior Design Program at the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto.
Since returning to the coast in 2002 she has continued to style and create in the Furniture and Design industry in Victoria and Vancouver. With a strong textile background and natural sewing ability, drapery and soft home furnishings have become her specialty and passion.
