Introducing Our Newest Line: Perez

Our newest upholstery line has just hit the showroom floor and we’re so excited to share what they’re all about! Perez is a Canadian company based out of Montreal, Quebec and has been operating in the furniture industry for over 20 years. They pride themselves on combining innovative design and intentional craftsmanship to build unique, high end pieces with supreme comfort. Influenced by clean European lines and playful silhouettes, Perez imports luxurious fabrics from Italy and Spain to complete their Canadian-made pieces.

The company’s founder, Daniel Perez notes that “it’s easy to make beautiful furniture – but it's not that easy to create comfortable furniture.” Perez prioritizes designing furniture that fulfills both of these qualities. Above all, Perez “puts a lot more emphasis on the experience,” says Daniel Perez, rather than focusing solely on the look of the product. We fell in love with Perez after experiencing their amazing seats, and once you feel them for yourself, we know you will too. Here are a few more reasons why we love Perez:

Innovative Canadian design

Perez offers an impressive selection of contemporary furniture inspired by playful European silhouettes. They offer a variety of looks, sizes and configurations, that cater to a wide array of tastes and functional needs. At Perez, there is truly something for everyone, and all Perez orders are individually made just for you and your clients, right in the heart of Montreal. Managing the manufacturing of their goods on-site enables Perez to have full control of the quality and customization of each product.

Quality craftsmanship and materials

At Perez, each component is chosen with a specific intention in mind. All frames are made of kiln-dried hardwood and corner-blocked to ensure stability. All Perez frames come with a limited lifetime warranty which covers normal wear and tear due to regular use. Co-owner Richele Schafer notes that in 18 years, she has only had 3 claims, “one due to a non-visible weakness in the hardwood, and 2 sofas that had been mishandled in transport.”

When it comes to components and mechanisms, Perez imports the highest quality items from Italy, including legs, sofa bed mechanisms, and hardware. Perhaps the most notable quality of Perez’s craftsmanship is their amazing selection of luxury fabrics imported from Italy and Spain. The company has fostered relationships directly with well-known European fabric mills, and has the privilege to offer these incredible fabrics to you!

Daniel Perez is the self-proclaimed guru of comfort. He wants to ensure that Perez’s furniture not only looks good but feels good too. This is an integral part of the company’s design process. Each model is designed with a specific comfort in mind. Some are meant to sit upright, some are designed for you to abandon all muscles, while others are meant to invoke a cozy, warm hug.
At Perez, each style and cushion is created with its own specific compression, density and movement in mind. For example, each feather cushion is created with baffles, like a duvet for your bed, to ensure the compression and distribution of the feathers remain constant. Whether you like a tight seat with lots of rebound or a fluffy cushion to sink into, Perez is sure to have your perfect seat.
